Saber

The Sport Saber is but a ghost of it's former self, having a max. weight of only 500 grams, most weighing only 400-450 grams.  As an Olympic sport, in it's electronic form, a mere contact of the body with any part of the blade, cutting edge or flat, is counted as a scoring hit.  Nick named by Classic Fencers and swordsmen as  Electric Tag, it has little resemblance to true Saber fencing.

Dry saber or Classic saber, where only the cutting edge of the blade and an impact of wounding quality would count is closer to actual combat use of the blade.
Target area is from the hip bones up, including head and hands and in general is counted as one point for each hit.
