Epee

Epee is a  triangular shaped  blade used as a stabbing weapon.  Evolved from the small sword of the 17th century it became the preferred dueling weapon of the general population throughout Europe and the United States.  As a sport the entire body is target area and in most formats each touch is worth one point, however there is a growing division of the sport that gives one point for arm and leg, two points for body and 3 points for head.  The most common playing field is 2 meters wide by 14 meters long. Epee is one of three weapons fenced in the Olympics and was added to replace Single Stick in the very early 1900s.
